KYIV (QHA) -

The Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov said that Ukraine faces many issues on the way to resolve a conflict in Donbas and return Crimea as it lacks a uniform strategy on the de-occupation and reintegration of the occupied territories.

- The lack of strategy on the de-occupation and reintegration of Luhansk and Donetsk regions as well as Crimea prevents us from tackling a number of issues, Chubarov said during a round table "The occupied territories: the human rights protection and reintegration prospects," according to QHA correspondent.

At the same time Chubarov believes that unifying the facts of Russia’s occupation of Crimea and the hostilities in Donbas on a legal level can be a step in this direction.

- Legal unification of the occupation of Crimea and parts of Luhansk and Donetsk regions will help us to tackle many problems that exist in these areas, said Chubarov.

Today in the framework of the same event, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko said the Ukrainian government is making many efforts lest the international community forgets Russia’s annexation of Crimea.
