The Kiev Institute of International Relations held an open lecture about Ahtemu Chiygoz - Deputy Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, illegally arrested in Russia-occupied Crimea. During the lecture, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov named three factors that ultimately will make it possible to return Crimea under Ukraine’s control.

- I will name three factors. The first - the international sanctions. It is necessary to further explain the Western countries that assisting Ukraine in its struggle for Crimea, they first of all protect themselves from suffering the same fate, said Chubarov.

The Head of the Mejlis went on saying that a number of countries in Eastern Europe and Baltic states remember the Soviet occupation and understand what it is.

- The second factor is strengthening Ukraine's defense capability. Third - our domestic affairs, reforms. These three factors can pave the way for returning Crimea, Chubarov said.

Except Refat Chubarov, the lecture was attended by Mustafa Dzhemilev, the Commissioner of the Ukraine’s Presidential Envoy for Crimean Tatar People’s Affairs and Emine Dzheppar, Information Policy Advisor to the Minister of Ukraine for Crimea.
