KYIV (QHA) -

Today, February 17, a conference "Strengthening of repressions against Crimean Tatars by Russian occupiers" was held in Kyiv. Refat Chubarov, the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the President of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars, told about the next wave of intensified repressions against the Crimean Tatars in Russia-occupied Crimea, as well as announced a list of the latest repressed by Russian occupiers. According to Refat Chubarov, in all likelihood, Mejlis in Crimea will be banned.

- While Crimea was still occupied by the Nazis, the Germans, Stalin was already preparing the plan on deportation of the Crimean Tatar people, said Chubarov.

When asked whether similar deportation is possible in our time, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people replied:

- Now those who are against Russia’s occupation are being forced out of Crimea and they will be replaced by Russian people. See how they quelled the North Caucasus: it is made by displacing the Chechens, Ingush and other nationalities.
