The news that the person calling herself “the Prosecutor of Crimea” has made another criminal act today I got staying in Istanbul, which will host tomorrow an ordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, where I and Mustafa Jemilev are to take part. This criminal act will undoubtedly form the basis of charges against Poklonskaya of committing serious crimes, including treason, kidnapping, murder of people, illegal imprisonment as well as infringement of the inviolability of property.
The decision "to suspend the activities of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars" by Ms. Poklonskaya, a person illegally performing function of "Prosecutor" in the temporarily occupied Crimea, of course, is inherently worthless, but will be provided by the punitive organs of the Russian Federation, occupying the Crimea.
There is no doubt that the adoption of the "decision" has been made possible only by the Kremlin's order, which is indicative of escalation by Putin and his entourage the confrontational forms of relations with the international community.
Strictly speaking, this is a cynical Putin's response to calls of participants of the UN Security Council meetings (March 18, 2016, according to the Arria formula, New York) and the United Nations Human Rights Council (March 22, 2016, Geneva) on the termination of the persecution of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars - the highest representative body of the indigenous people of Crimea.
This is a boorish response to the vast majority of the deputies of the European Parliament, who issued a Declaration of February 4, 2016 in defence of Crimean Tatar rights and demanded that Russia stop repressions against Mejlis of Crimean Tatars people.
Obviously, Putin proceeds from the assumption that there is no longer an effective tool in the world that can stop the brutal violations of international law committed by him.
I presume that President of Ukraine shall immediately apply to the UN Secretary-General, as well as the leadership of the European Parliament and of the Council of Europe demanding urgent meetings of the UN Security Council, the executive bodies of the European Union and the Council of Europe with a view of forestalling the threat of direct reprisals against the indigenous people of Crimea coming from Russia that occupied the peninsula.
