KYIV (QHA) -

The occupation authorities did not dare to carry out direct repressive actions against the participants of uncoordinated memorial events on Crimean Tatar Remembrance Day of Deportation, Chairman of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis Refat Chubarov stated during the press conference entitled "The Mejlis case: How to protect the Crimean Tatars’ rights in occupied Crimea", according to a QHA correspondent.

“Yesterday, the occupants did not dare to carry out direct repressive actions, although there were some attempts. Almost no one attended the official events organized by the occupation authorities,” Refat Chubarov said.

He went on to say that only this morning some actions have been taken against those who in some manner or other participated in the commemorative events.

“The court has already passed judgment on the first case in Kirov region and sentenced young boys for twenty hours of forced labor. The problem is not only one of punishment. The problem is that they will do the same thing to everyone.
