Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov is not ruling out his arrest, that may be based on “prevention from extremist activities” in preparations to 70th anniversary of Crimean Tatar deportation of 1944.
Chubarov noted, the final goal of criminal proceeding launched against him is not clear.
"Different tasks may be set, from direct blackmail to far-reaching plans for the Crimean Tatars as a whole- he said. I would not like to speculate without having the decree on launched criminal proceeding in my hands. However, I am not ruling out my detention. And not only mine”- he added.
A reminder, that Crimean authorities have launched a criminal proceeding against head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov and launched hundreds of criminal cases after about 2,000 Crimean Tatars broke through lines of Russian troops at the border-crossing point near Armyansk,May 3, to meet Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Jemilev, who was banned enter Crimea for 5 years.
