“In spite of all the good this year in our history will remain the second year of Russian occupation of Crimea,” Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainian MP, said during the press conference ‘De-occupation of Crimea: Task for the State and Society for 2016.’

The Chairman of Mejlis thanked all his colleagues for their loyalty, for what they have been doing that justice has been met, a QHA correspondent reports.

The occupation authorities have started repressions against the Crimean Tatar since the beginning of 2015. On January 29, Ahtem Chiygoz, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis, was arrested, Chubarov said. He also read out a list of all Crimean people who were persecuted by the occupying authority.

There are much less opportunities in the occupied Crimea than before, according to the Chairman of Mejlis.

“During 2015, I and Mustafa Jemilev have made 35 international trips. This reinforces the effect of the Ukrainian politics presence in the international arena,” said Chubarov.
