Speaking at the Verkhovna Rada, Refat Chubarov, Ukrainian MP and Mejlis leader, stated that restoration of ‘Kakhovka-Titan’ power line was motivated by energy needs of the residents of the southern areas of Kherson region, a QHA journalist reports from the parliament building.
Refat Chubarov also noted that authorities should use the time of the power line operation to normalize the electricity supply for residents of Kherson region. Moreover, he announced the introduction of a draft law, which will block the access of the occupied peninsular to energy at the state level, by the end of 2015.
“If we will not pass this law by the end of this month, we have another preventive measure. I wish to announce and I believe that everyone in this hall and my colleagues will not allow any minister or government to conclude an agreement on power supply, if that becomes necessary, unless there is stipulated the ‘Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukraine’,” Refat Chubarov stated.
The head of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars also said that the parliamentary committees are working hard to finalize the draft law before the end of the year, so as if not to completely block the power supply, then to maximize its cost for invaders.
