STRASBOURG (QHA) -

The People's Deputy of Ukraine and the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov criticized the idea of the stage-by-stage deoccupation of the Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia.

He shared his view at a meeting of subcommittees on Human Rights of the European Parliament and the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Ethnic Relations on Thursday in Brussels.

"Ostensibly, the gradual restoration of territorial integrity, they say, let's first of all de-occupy  the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, and then, the Crimea - this approach will constantly destabilize the Ukrainian society," Chubarov is convinced.

Earlier, Chubarov commented on the words of Czech President Zeman about the need to "sell" the Crimea. The Head of the Mejlis noted that Zeman expressed disrespect to Ukraine, the Ukrainian and the Crimean Tatar people, but even more, he insulted the Czech people, who always strove for freedom and independence.
