KYIV (QHA) -

The whole world should be interested in the return of Crimea to the sovereignty of Ukraine, since the recognition of its annexation by Russia will definitely lead to mayhem in international relations, where the military power of the country would become a determining factor, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP Refat Chubarov said in an interview with "Observer".

“Now de jure Crimea remains an integral part of the sovereign Ukraine, temporarily occupied by Russia. Of course, the Crimea will also return to Ukraine de facto, as the alternative will only lead to mayhem in the international relations, in which the strength and military power of a country would completely replace the principles of good-neighborliness and peaceful coexistence,” Chubarov said.

Refat Chubarov went on saying that a consolidated position of Ukrainians to protect their state and its territorial integrity should be the main factor in the de-occupation of Crimea. According to him, only under this condition, the whole world will be to protect Ukraine.

“At the same time, we, Ukrainians, must first of all realize that even the idea of the possibility to give away our territory to the aggressor may be the beginning of the Ukrainian statehood demolition.

Earlier, in response to statements by Ukrainian oligarch Victor Pinchuk on "the need to postpone the issue of de-occupation of the Crimea till the complete solution of the military conflict in the east of Ukraine" in the article by the US media, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov said that such speeches promote Ukraine to surrender to the Russian aggression.
