In an interview with Channel 5, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, People's Deputy of Ukraine Refat Chubarov said that Kyiv can no longer trust Minsk, so it is worth replacing Belarus as the venue for negotiations on settling the situation in the Donbas.

“We must clearly say that Minsk openly demonstrates its alliance with Russia. And moving the site to another country should be done in such a way that Russia could not withdraw from the negotiations," he said.

Speaking about the replacement of Belarus, Chubarov noted that one of the post-Soviet countries, for example, one of the Baltic states, or Poland, could take its place.

"But it must be a state that is part of the European Union," he stressed.

The People's Deputy also believes that Russia will never go to the final resolution of issues related to its aggressive policy, on terms that do not suit it.

QHA reported that, earlier Chubarov called the year 2017 "the year of challenges faced with dignity."

Chubarov noted that, despite the trials that befell the Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians in the occupied Crimea, they banded together even more in their resistance against the Russian aggressors.
