Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov condemned the search of Crimean madrasa, conducted early on June 24 by officers of Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
Masked, armed FSB officers broke the window of madrasa (Islamic school) at 06:00 in the morning when children were sleeping and seized the building. They searched the building for weapon, still no weapon was found.
“Sometimes it seems like we live in surrealistic world, there are no legal and moral norms. I don’t know what we should appeal to, when armed masked men storm the building when children are sleeping. Can you imagine your child in their place?”- Chubarov noted.
Chubarov also said he feel indignant at the fact that no representative of Crimean authorities has commented the situation.
“No one has apologized or took responsibility for the incident.
“I think it is outrageous, cynical incident of moral psychological blackmail, pressure on people. Even if they [FSB,-ed.] had formal grounds to hold those actions that should have made it in other way, without turning guns on children. That is how it was done in 1944 - Chubarov stressed. It is danger to all Crimean society. It is banditry.”
