Simferopol (QHA) - Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov calls on to dissolve the Crimean Parliament and hold early elections on the base of the new law on the election of deputies to the Parliament of Crimea, which guarantees representation of Crimean Tatars in its composition. On his Facebook page, Chubarov commented the latest statements of the deputies of Crimean Parliament regarding introduction of amendments to the constitution of Crimea and the status of Crimean autonomy. “In light of the recent statements of the presidium members of the Crimean Parliament, including on the necessity for open intervention from the Russian Federation, under the veiled calls for “support, assistance and protection”, Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people proposes to dissolve the current composition of the Parliament and hold early elections on the base of the new law on the election of deputies to the Crimean Parliament, which guarantees representation of indigenous people of Crimea in its composition”, - noted Chubarov. According to him, as a result of a crisis in the country, some Crimean politicians fully revealed their ‘true faces’ by bringing up their ideas on ‘returning’ Crimea back to Russia. Head of Mejlis also notes that “hysterical demonstration of devotion to Russia by the Parliament’s presidium members reaffirmed that the status of Crimea needs urgent legal reformatting, in which rights of Crimean Tatars could not be neglected.” As reported, yesterday, MP of Crimea Vladimir Klychnikov made suggestions to amend constitutions of Ukraine and Crimea and conduct an all-Crimean poll on the status of Crimea. Speaker of Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov supported the proposal. Klychnikov also suggested to appeal to the President and the legislative assembly of the Russian Federation to be the guarantors of inviolability of the status of Crimean autonomy and rights and freedoms of Crimean residents. Another MP of Crimea, Sergey Tsekov initiated to appeal to the Russian Federation for support, assistance and protection. “Crimea is a Russian autonomy, Russian by nationality, language, culture… Our guarantor and protector is the Russian Federation only,” – said Tsekov.
