(QHA) -

Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov was barred from entering Crimea.

Crimean Prosecutor General Natalia Poklonskaya met Chubarov at Ukraine-Crimea border and read him a warning of extremist activity. Later Chubarov was handed over a note, banning him from entering Crimea for 5 years.

The same note was given to Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Jemilev in May 2014.

Chubarov’s ban comes as he arrived to Genichesk, mainland Ukraine, to conduct field session of Mejlis.

Mustafa Jemilev also attended the event.
