During the Crimean Supreme Court hearing of the so-called February 26 case being held now in the occupied Crimea, the wife of detained Ahtem Chiygoz, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, addressed the court, according to a message posted on Facebook by Nariman Jelal, the First Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis.
“Elmira Ablyalimova, Ahtem Chiygoz’s wife, stated at the hearing that her husband has serious health problems. However, the prison management did not respond to it,” Jelal wrote on his Facebook page.
It was reported earlier that Ahtem Chiygoz has been kept in the pre-trail detention center for more than a year on charges of organizing "mass disorders" outside the Crimean Parliament on February 26, 2014, when the Crimean Tatars gathered to support the integrity of Ukraine. Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermendzhi are also held in captivity on the same charges.
