Today marks exactly one year since Ahtem Chiygoz was arrested. The Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chiygoz, accused by Russian occupation "authorities" of organizing riots during the rally February 26, 2014 outside the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea, still met the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Crimea Gerard Stoudmann, the Head of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov told at the exhibition that was held at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and was devoted to the Crimean political prisoners.

- The meeting lasted half an hour. However, an interpreter present at the meeting was appointed by the occupation authorities, said Chubarov.

As of now, there are 21 Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia and 8 in Crimea.
