Deputy head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chiygoz left Simferopol for Kyiv to meet Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Jemilev, another deputy head of Mejlis Nariman Dzhelal said to QHA.

“Ahtem Chiygoz left for Kyiv to discuss sharp issues of Crimean Tatar people”- Dzhelal said, adding that Chiygoz may also meet with Ukrainian authorities.

This comes after Chiygoz was prevented from speaking at Crimean Tatar meeting in Simferopol arranged by Remzi Ilyasov’s “Qirim” civil organization.

The event was attended by Crimean Tatar officials, among them deputy chairman of Crimean Parliament Remzi Ilyasov, head of State Committee for Interethnic Affairs and Deported Citizens Zaur Smirnov, deputy mayor of Simferopol Teyfuk Gafarov.

Ahtem Chiygoz who also tried to speak, but he was taken away by unknown people, who said. 

Russian President Vladimir Putin paid official visit to Ankara to meet his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan Dec 1 to discuss gas issues, as well as the issue of Syria.
