Since the beginning of the Ukrainian crisis, Russia and Europe have been in a state of ‘Cold Peace’, Russian Bulgaria reports Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev as saying at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg. He also said that all the problems facing the countries stem directly from the infringement of rules by some players.

“Today, Russia is acting in accordance with the ideology of the great powers and their spheres of influence,” said Plevneliev.

According to him, the West and Russia are opponents again, and Europe has entered a new phase of ‘Cold Peace.’

“It is peace, because no one wants war, and no one wants to go back to the period of the Cold War. Unfortunately, this peace is cold, because we see elements, rhetoric and propaganda of the Cold War. The annexation of Crimea has become a flagrant violation of international law and principles. Bulgaria strongly supports the Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity. For us Crimea is Ukraine and Ukraine is Crimea,” said Plevneliev.
