The Muslims of the Russian Federation  decorated the self-proclaimed head of the occupied Crimea Sergey Aksenov with the ‘Spiritual Unity’ medal "for his significant contribution to the development of national and cultural traditions, the restoration of inter-religious and inter-ethnic harmony and spiritual revival of the Republic of Crimea," the press service of the ‘Crimean government’ reports.

The ceremony took place in the framework of the conference " Hajj organization for Russian Muslims: Past and Present. Islam is against Terrorism."

“I will never fail. We will keep the peace, friendship and respect among people of all faiths and nationalities,” said Aksenov.

According to Mustafa Jemilev, Leader of the Crimean Tatar people and Commissioner of Ukrainian President on Crimean Tatars Affairs, a total of 22 people went missing, and more than 200 searches were conducted in Crimean Tatars’ homes for two years of Russia’s occupation of Crimea.

On May 29, criminals kidnapped and brutally murdered a 36-year-old Crimean Tatar, Mumine Aliyeva.
