Moscow (QHA) -

Bill for a simplified procedure for accession of new territories to the Russian Federation, which was earlier submitted by “Fair Russia” party, is withdrawn from the State Duma.  Head of Duma committee on constitutional law Vladimir Pligin said this to journalists, reports ITAR-TASS.

Pligin explained that at present this document is reviewed by Venice Commission.

“As far as I know, authors of the bill have withdrawn it.  I guess the committee will receive the appropriate letters in the near future,” said Pligin.

Pligin stressed that the site of Venice Commission states that the initiative of “Fair Russia” contradicts to norms of international law and calls on Russian authorities not to pass the bill.
