Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev came up with a compromise solution of the Karabakh conflict.

“The solution is very simple: The Armenian Armed Forces must withdraw from the occupied area, so the Azerbaijani citizens could return to their land. That is the only way peace and security can be established in the region,” Ilham Aliyev said at a government meeting on the results of Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development in the first quarter.

According to him, Azerbaijan is protecting its own territory.

“We do not want other nations’ land and we will not give ours to anyone. And we will not allow a second Armenian state to be established in Azerbaijan,” said Aliyev.

According to Aliyev, the international community expressed its concern after eruption of hostilities in the conflict zone, while leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group made statements about the need to remain committed to the negotiation process and settlement of disputes by peaceful means.

“We have repeatedly stated that we wanted the issue to be resolved through peaceful and political means. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to resolving the conflict through negotiation process, and we hope that these negotiations will lead to the solution of the problem,” said the Azerbaijani President.
