The information related to bill No. 5333 has been published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on November 17. The explanatory note to the bill states that it was designed to resolve issues related to the financial support of television and radio companies, which operated on the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, in particular, the Crimean Tatar ATR TV channel. The funds from the Ukrainian state budget are allocated for the services of satellite communications, and part of the debt for these services formed since February 2014; lease and purchase of television equipment; rental of premises, fees for the use and acquisition of copyright.

Previously, Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and Ukrainian MP, called on the Ukrainian Parliament to take action to fund the Crimean Tatar ATR TV channel.
