On January 24, Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, answered the above mentioned questions in a live ATR TV channel during traditional Saturday’s ‘Crimean’ broadcasting.
A politician assured the viewers that the Republic of Turkey has always adhered to the norms of international law and respected the integrity of the neighboring states.
“Only such tyrants, dictators and ignorant leaders like Putin may think that in the 21st century such problems as accession and detachment of territories, as well as recarving of borders can be easily solved. The world is now adheres to other positions. In the case if there are problem with human rights, and the government wants to ensure that they are respected, it is not allowed to put boots on the ground,” he said.
Refat Chubarov said that there are various mechanisms the civilized world use to achieve the observance of human rights.
“As for Turkey, I completely rule out the likelihood that Turkish leaders who respect the integrity of any state have ever hatched plans to make complaints or had a secret desire to join foreign territory to their country. In today's world, only ignorant people can adhere to such principles,” he said.
In the context of the last meeting of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars, Refat Chubarov told about the plans of the Turkish Diaspora to help the compatriots living in the Henichesk district of the Kherson region: construction of religious and community facilities, as well as educational institutions for the compatriots living in the Kherson region, willing to return from the places of deportation after they were forced to leave Crimea.
