Association talks in progress: Azarov

The Ukrainian authorities continue negotiations on signing an Association Agreement with the European Union and is currently forming a delegation, Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov said in a statement on Tuesday, reports Ukrinform.

"Now we are making every effort to maintain a calm, normal situation in the country. On Wednesday, our delegation will travel to Brussels, and we continue to negotiate, which will give the opportunity to sign the agreement on European integration on favorable conditions for Ukraine. The President has agreed on that and a delegation is currently being formed," the document reads.

According to the head of government, business relations with Russia will also be restored.

"Simultaneously, on Wednesday another delegation goes to Moscow, for we seek to strengthen our strategic partnership, we want to renew trade and economic relations with the Russian Federation," Azarov noted.

He assured that the government wants to give a job to the Ukrainian machine-building, space industry, aircraft construction, pipe industry, other businesses, which, unfortunately, have recently lost orders, reduced production.

The prime minister also thanked the people for their patience.

"And thank you, my dear compatriots, for calm and courage with which you perceive unusually aggressive propaganda and keep an equal mind in this situation," the head of government emphasized.
