In his address to the National Press Club, President of Poland Andrzej Duda said that in relations with Russia it is necessary to seek the return to the geopolitical realities that existed prior to the annexation of Crimea, Commissioner of Ukrainian President on Crimean Tatars Affairs Mustafa Jemilev posted on Facebook.
“It implies Russia's withdrawal from the Ukrainian peninsula,” Duda said.
The President of the neighboring country went on to say that "Poland, like the rest of Europe, does not want Russia to be isolated and the Cold War returned." However the annexation of Crimea was a flagrant violation of international law and became a "very dangerous precedent" NATO should take more seriously.
Polish President also stressed the necessity to continue Western sanctions against Russia in response to the aggression in Ukraine.
“In order to build a partnership dialogue, there should be mutual respect for the rights. Sanctions need to be continued against any state that violates the international law,” said Duda.
