Sergey Aksyonov, Head of the Crimean Government, made a statement to this effect on November 23.
“We believe the worst is yet to come. The situation is likely to be like this until the first stage of a power-supplying bridge across the Kerch Strait has been commissioned by December 22.
We regret to inform the Crimean residents that this period will most likely be a protracted one,” RIA Novosti quotes Aksyonov as saying.
According to Aksyonov, an emergency supply of food and fuel has been made, while food, drugs and basic necessities are being delivered in sufficient quantities.
