Eleven French MPs, led by National Assembly MP and former Minister of Transport Thierry Mariani, are due to visit occupied Crimea on July, 29 -31, told the so-called Crimea’s Head Sergey Aksyonov as cited by RIA Novosti.
- This is a positive process - the arrival of foreign diplomats and deputies. We are pleased to meet the French delegation. They are our allies, we have a lot of such allies in Western countries, said Aksyonov.
As it is known, the French delegation visited Crimea a year ago.
- All visits of foreign Deputies have always been positive for Crimea. That is the way the sanctions against the Russian Federation were eased. Constant dropping wears away a stone. These visits gave an effect anyway, said Crimean "Head." On July 1, the European Union extended the economic sanctions against Russia until January 31, 2017.
It is worth noting that the EU sanctions include a ban on importing goods from Crimea and Sevastopol into the EU; investments into Crimea and the city of Sevastopol; tourist services in Crimea and Sevastopol (in particular, the European cruise ships cannot enter the Crimean ports); export of certain goods and technology to Crimea, in particular, in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors.
