Commenting on the statement by the former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen that the return of Crimea should not be an urgent priority for Ukraine, the so-called head of the peninsula Sergei Aksenov assumed that the West has changed its position.

“It has long been observed that high-ranking Western officials and politicians following the resignation miraculously become smarter and start to talk sensibly,” the so called "Head of the Republic" speculated on his Facebook page.

Sergey Aksenov also said that the sooner Ukraine abandons the attempt to return Crimea, the better it will be for the country and the whole world.

“Crimea has already been returned, and Ukraine should forget about it forever,” he wrote.
