A group to be created to investigate issue of kidnapping in Crimea

Crimean Parliament to create contact group to investigate the issue of two Crimean Tatars-- Islyam Dzhepparov and Dzhevdet Islyamov-- who were obtained Sept 27 in Belogorsk. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

Father of Islyam, Abdureshit Dzhepparov announced this after a meeting with Crimean Premier Sergey Aksyonov.

Sergey Aksyonov arrived in Belogorsk Oct 1 to discuss the incident with local residents, still made a decision to conduct a meeting behind the close doors, in Belogorsk Regional Administration. The meeting was attended by father of kidnapped Islyam, Abdureshit Dzhepparov, and mother of kidnapped Dzhevdet Islyamov, as well as imam of local mosque, deputy mayor of Alushta Enver Arpatly, head of local Mejlis office Eskender Bilyalov and others.

According to Abdureshit Dzhepparov “the talk was informative”.

“It was an informative talk. We have reached decision to create a contact group that will include Crimean Tatars. The group will consist of representatives of aggrieved person as well as lawyers and other specialists, who will contact with competent authorities and will work”- he noted, adding that the group will also deal with other incidents of repressions against Crimean Tatars, such as searches in the mosques, madrassas and homes of Crimean Tatars.
