Around 50 residents of Crimea, mostly natives of Northern Caucasus and Central Asia, are involved in hostilities in Syria, said the press service of the USS (Ukrainian Security Service) in response to a QHA query.

“According to our information, around 50 residents of Crimea, mostly residents of Northern Caucasus and Central Asia, who had Ukrainian citizenship at the time of the annexation of Crimea, are involved in hostilities in the Syrian Arab Republic,” said the press service.

It was reported earlier that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry estimated the number of Ukrainian nationals in Syria at 300.
