As of the 30th day of the military operation "Euphrates Shield", the Syrian Liberation Army fighters are consolidating their position on a southerly direction from Jarabulus area fully mopped up from terrorists, the AA agency informs.
Currently, the territory liberated from terrorist elements, has already reached 1,200 square kilometers.
The Turkish Armed Forces continue to hit terrorist positions and objectives in order to ensure further progress of the Syrian Liberation Army.
Civilian life in Jarabulus is gradually normalizing due to Turkey. According to recent reports, due to creation of a safe zone in northern Syria, the Jarabulus population which was initially 3500, increased to 25 thousand people.
Since August 24, Turkey has lost 10 soldiers, eight were killed in the ISIL mortar attacks and two were blown at the border by self-made mines.
The "Euphrates Shield" is a joint military operation carried out by the special operation groups with the Turkish Armed Forces and the Air Forces of the international coalition against ISIL terrorist organization in Syria, which started in the early morning of August, 24. The main objectives of the offensive are to clear the frontier regions from IS terrorists, ramp up the border security, provide support for the territorial integrity in Syria, as well as to prevent the creation of so-called "Kurdish corridor” on the southern border.
