Unknown men over again removed Ukrainian flag from the Mejlis building in Simferopol city center. Police is investigating the incident.
This is not the first incident when the Ukrainian flag, the only Ukrainian Flag in Crimea officially flying at the Mejlis building was removed, as unknown men torn off Ukrainian flag from the building of Mejlis on April 21 and Sept 15.
This comes after police and FSB officers seized the building of Mejlis central office, arrested the property and gave the Mejlis stuff 24 hours to evacuate the building.
Regarding the Mejlis, founded in 1991 to act as a representative body for Crimean Tatars, Crimean Prime Minister Sergey Aksyonov announced “it did not exist for him, as the organization was not registered properly”.
Crimea was annexed by Russia in March, following local referendum on region's status.
