The operation launched in the Turkish province of Mardin on March 14 is still ongoing. Its purpose is to fill up the ditches dug by Kurdish terrorists, remove barricades, destroy explosives and restore security of the civilian population.
Families living in the area were provided with 463 food packages and medical kits, which have already helped 804 people. In addition, the ambulances are reported to arrive on each emergency call, and 1048 families were evacuated to safe areas.
During the operation 220 terrorists were neutralized, 156 barricades removed and 503 homemade bombs destroyed. In cause of the operation 41 Turkish soldiers were killed in their heroic struggle.
