Simferopol (QHA) - Head of the Secretariat of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Zair Smedlyayev believes setting Mejlis’s trailer on fire is another provocation, informs press service of Mejlis. “The trailer is burned. I can’t say who did it exactly, but I think it’s another provocation aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region. This can be put ‘in one row’ with frequent statements against Crimean Tatars and xenophobic publications”, said Smedlyayev. “I have no hope that the guilty will be found, as well as still haven’t been found those who organized and committed numerous acts of vandalism at Muslim cemeteries. The police will find many excuses- broken wiring, unextinguished cigarette, laying there for several months or anything like that. It’s clear that the fire was set on purpose and a broken window is a proof of that”, added Smedlyayev. He also noted that if perpetrators are not found it will be an evidence that the provocation was committed with the consent of law enforcement officials or even with their participation. As reported earlier, trailer, belonging to local self-governance committee # 9 of Central district of Simferopol and local Mejlis was set on fire. When firefighters arrived, nothing could be saved. Furniture, equipment and appliances were destroyed by fire.
