February 16, militants fired artillery on the housing sector in Avdiivka. Reportedly, the multi-storey building on Gagarin Street, District 9 was hit. In the result of the attack, a man, born in 1973, died of shrapnel wounds.
In addition, two houses No.1 and No.12 collapsed on the Gagarin Street. In the first of the houses two people suffered, and in the second house the heating system was thwarted. Another civilian obtained non-severe injury, burns of moderate severity.
ATO Headquarters announced that during the shelling three Ukrainian soldiers were killed and four were wounded.
Earlier, January 29 the situation seriously aggravated in the Avdiivka area Donetsk region. ATO forces suffered casualties. In the battles for Avdiivka from January 29 to February 2, 11 Ukrainian military were killed.
January 30 in the result of the militants shelling, Avdiivka remained without heat, water and electricity. The same evening, a state of emergency was introduced in the city.
February 5 almost the whole Avdiivka was connected to the power supply.
After a failed offensive in Avdiivka, the cases of desertion in the ranks of the Russian-terrorist forces in Donbas have increased significantly, according to the Directorate General of Intelligence of Ukraine.
