Anna Ivanova, 66, candidate for deputy to Rivne regional and city councils from Svoboda Party, has been attacked and doused with acid by an unidentified individual.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the MIA of Ukraine in Rivne region, the incident report was received via special phone line ‘102’ on October 20, 2015.
The investigation team found out that Anna Ivanova cracked open the door after an unknown man knocked on it. At that moment the attacker poured boiling water on her (according to Anna Ivanova). However, doctors confirmed that it was unknown chemical, and the victim was taken to the Rivne regional hospital.
Oleh Tyagnybok claimed that Anna Ivanova was taken to hospital with burns on her face and chest.
“Anna Ivanova was brought to hospital by ambulance with burns on her face and chest. Anna is a well-known social activist, fighter against illegal construction and removal of the Regions Party members from power in Rivne city. Svoboda Party demands the early and objective investigation as well as punishment of those found responsible of the authorities,” Oleg Tyagnybok posted on his Facebook page.
