An officer of Kyiv Traffic Police Administration was involved in criminal scheme, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reports. He issued fake vehicle registration certificates and license plates for fictitious persons.
“The criminals obtained confidential information from the Traffic Police database and entered there invalid data to disguise the origin of vehicles,” the SSU reports.
“The scheme was organized by Rima terrorist group from Sverdlovsk city headed by the former deputy of Sverdlovsk City Council from the Communist Party. Security officers have already established the facts of ten attempts to legalize cars ‘wrestled’ away from automobile showrooms in Luhansk,” says the statement of the Service.
The criminals planned to import the legalized cars to Ukraine via Russia and funnel earnings to terrorists.
