The smoke contamination in the premises of the banks located on Ivana Franka and Striyslka Streets was reported at around 01:00 am, press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) in Lviv region reports. Rescuers evacuated residents of homes, where the banks were located, for a time of extinguishing the fire.

The causes of the fire have not been reported by the agency.

However, the activists of Lviv ‘Warta 1’ Movement consider that it was the intentional arson.

“Sberbank of Russia is burning on Ivana Franka Street (near Stryisky market). The fire truck is present at the scene. At the same time, there was an attempt to set fire to the same bank on Chornovil Avenue,” Ihor Zinkevich, an activist, wrote on his Facebook page.

As QHA reported earlier, the Ukrainian activists attacked ‘Alfa-Bank’ and ‘Sberbank of Russia’ branches in Kyiv on Heavenly Hundred Heroes' Remembrance Day.
