Civilians defend their cellars from Russian marauders using homemade mines

Food warehouses of the 1st Army Corps (Donetsk) of the RF Armed Forces has been recently robbed in the uncontrolled Ukrainian territory. As a result of the armed robbery, two soldiers of a detached commandant regiment corps were killed, and two machine guns were stolen, as well as about 800 kg of canned meat and other products.

According to the General Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the incident occurred on September 26th.

The intelligence informs that the suspects are the soldiers of the 5th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade (Makiyivka) 1st AC (Donetsk) of the RF Armed Forces, including the Head of Catering Sergei Kondrashov and the driver of material security company Vladimir Kamennyi.

The GUR reports that since the cease-fire, the already poor food security of the 1st AC (Donetsk) advanced units, has significantly worsened. As a result, military are looting the civilian population as well as rob military supply depots. The crimes occasionally result in fatalities.

For example, September 27, near the Cossackskoe village, two soldiers of the 9th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade (Novoazovsk) 1 AK stepped on a homemade landmine, when trying to rob the vault of local residents. The mine was set up by the locals to protect from marauders.

The same day, the staff of the Russian-occupation Donetsk military commandant's office arrested a soldier of the 1st infantry battalion of the 5th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade (Makiyivka) AK 1 (Donetsk) Oleg Shiryaykin. The man was armed with a gun with grenade launcher and attempted to rob local residents of the Kommunarovka village. The offender offered armed resistance when arrested.
