Four Russian military advisers were killed in Syria on February 16 as their car struck a mine, the Russian news agency Interfax informs referring to representatives of the Defense Ministry. As a result of undermining the four soldiers were killed and two were injured. Russian military medics are fighting for their lives.

The agency specified that the car with the Russian military advisers was part of Syrian troops convoy, coming from the area of Tiyas airport to the city of Homs. After the car with Russian soldiers drove about 4 km, an RC charge worked under their vehicle.

Until February 20, Russian Defense Ministry officially acknowledged 30 deaths of Russian servicemen in Syria (including non-combat losses).

Earlier, on December 7, Colonel Ruslan Galitsky died in the hospital. The member of Russian military advisors group in Syria was mortally wounded in militants shelling of residential areas in the western part of Aleppo.

December 5, militants shelled field hospital of the RF Defense Ministry hospital in Aleppo. Then they killed two Russian military doctors Nadezhda Durachenko and Galina Mihaylova. Chief pediatrician of Ministry of Defence of Russia Vadim Arsentiev was heavy wounded.

In summer, on August 12, it became known that a Russian soldier from Kabardino-Balkaria Asker Bizhoev was killed in Syria.
