MOSCOW (QHA) -

Su-33 crashed as a result of an unsuccessful attempt to land on the aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" in the Mediterranean, according to The Aviationist publication.

The incident occurred on December 3, but the reliable information appeared in the media only in 2 days. According to reports, the fighter crashed during the second landing approach in good weather conditions (visibility was more than 10 kilometers, churning of water - four points, wind speed - a little more than 20 kilometers per hour).

The pilot ejected and was rescued.

The previous accident at the "Admiral Kuznetsov" occurred on November 13, when the MiG-29 crashed into the sea near the aircraft carrier. The pilot also survived.

As QHA reported earlier, on October 30, the Russian MiG-31 crashed in Kamchatka; both fighter pilots survived.
