ATHENS (QHA) -
The evening of January 9, the  Russian Consul Andrei Malanin died in Athens. The 55-year-old diplomat was found dead in his apartment in the Greek capital.
 
On Monday, the Consul did not appear at  work and did not answer the phone calls. His body was found by his colleagues and the police officers they had called.
 
The Russian diplomatic mission in Athens, stated that "death was due to natural causes."
 
Earlier QHA reported  that the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov was attacked during his speech at the opening of the gallery at the Center for Contemporary Art. The Ambassador died in the hospital.
