Recruiting officer jailed for 5 years

An officer with the military enlistment officer, who served in Odessa region, has been sentenced to five years in prison for disobedience and refusal to go to the ATO zone.

The court sentenced the military commissariat officer to five years' imprisonment for refusing to execute the order to continue the service in the ATO zone, reported the press service of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Southern Region.

The officer with the Ovidiopol district military enlistment officer in Odessa region, who was responsible for the conscription system of the army recruitment, including the ATO zone in May 2015, openly refused to obey the order to move to a new military unit, which is deployed in the zone of the antiterrorist operation. The corresponding order was given by the Commander Field Army with the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Military Commissioner of the Ovidiopol RVC, reported the prosecutor's office.

Ovidiopol District Court of Odessa region charged the serviceman with a criminal offense under Part. 3 Section 402 (disobedience) of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 5 years imprisonment.
