Russian presidential envoy to Crimea Oleg Belaventsev Nov 18 visited Religious Administration of Muslims (Muftiyat) in Simferopol.
The sides discussed vital issues that concern Muslims in Crimea as well as the activity of Crimean Muftiyat.
Crimean Mufti Emirali Ablaev noted that he heads the Muftiyat for more than 15 years, stressing that great work on theological education has been made in Crimea.
According to Ablaev, there are more than 350 Muslim communities, more than 300 mosques and 5 madrasas (Muslim religious school) in Crimea. Every year Crimean Muftiyat arranges Hajj and Umra (Muslim pilgrimage) to Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by deputy presidential envoy to Crimea Vladimir Bobrovsky and advisor for Russia’s presidential envoy in Crimea Eskender Bilyalov.
