The disappeared from radar passenger plane of the Pakistan International Airlines with 47 people on board crashed, Reuters reports referring to the representative of the local police.

According to him, the plane, belonging to Pakistan International Airlines and carrying more than 40 people, crashed on Wednesday, flying form the northern town of Chitral to Islamabad.

The national air carrier confirmed in a statement that the flight PK-661 lost contact with air traffic controllers on Wednesday afternoon.

The wreckage of the aircraft was found by locals. It is reported that rescue workers have already arrived at the scene.
