Syrian government forces launched a series of strikes on the location of the US Special Operations Forces in Al-Hasaka, reported the Pentagon spokesman Geoff Davis as cited by RBC.

According to him, the event was not an interception and coalition aircrafts reached the area near Al-Hasaka while the Syrian Su-24s were leaving it. Davis told that the US special forces were located in the area of government airstrikes.

At the same time Syrian planes did not respond to the attempts to contact them. The Pentagon spokesman said the event is "unusual."

He stressed that he doesn’t know the cases when coalition planes were forced to respond to the aerial bombardment by the Syrian government.

Davis went on to say that the aviation security channels gained contact with the Russian side. The latter assured the strikes hadn’t been committed by its fighters.
