According to Ukrainian law enforcers, over 30 terrorists were killed during an anti-terrorist operation in Sloviansk on Monday, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has reported on his page on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"As far as our losses [Ukrainian Armed Forces] are concerned, four soldiers have been killed, and 20 have been wounded. According to our calculations, over 30 terrorists have been killed. Dozens have been wounded," he said.
The fighting with terrorists resumed in Slovyansk early on May 5. Ukrainian law enforcement officers fought about 800 militants.
Slovyansk, in the north of Donetsk region, has been the center of battles between government forces and pro-Russian militia over the past weeks. The interim leadership in Kiev has conducted several "anti-terrorist operations" in which dozens of people were killed.
The West accuses Russia of directly supplying and supporting the armed men fighting against the government forces.
