Over 1,000 shells found in forest near Kyiv

Arsenal of the Second World War weapons has been found near Kyiv.

Over the past few days, 1,036 shells of the Second World War have been discovered by the pyrotechnists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The arsenal of weapons has been found in a forest near Bortnichi village, Darnytsa district of Kyiv city.

According to reports, it is comprised of 760 mortal shells (50 mm caliber), 2 artillery shells (122 mm caliber), 76 artillery shells (76 mm caliber), 159 artillery shells (45 mm caliber) and 12 artillery shells (37 mm caliber).

A total of 30 pyrotechnists and 10 units of equipment were involved into the search of explosive objects. As for the time being, the works on transportation and destruction of the discovered weapons are carrying out.
