Oil spill occurred in Sevastopol water area

A large number of fuel oil was noticed in waters and on land surface near the village of Lyubimovka (water area of Russian-occupied Sevastopol).

The Federal Service for Supervision of Use of Natural Resources (Rosprirodnadzor) informed that the discharge of oil products occurred from one of the vessels near the village of Lyubimovka in Sevastopol waters on May 8, Novoye Vremya reports.

At the same time the local residents began to report the coast and waters pollution. A dead dolphin was noticed on a contaminated site as well.

The release of oil products is reported to coincide with the spawning period. Hence, it can negatively affect the quantitative composition of the fish fauna.
