Formations and units of Russian invaders in the Crimea put on alert due to sudden check of military readiness, according to the headquarters of the Southern Military District of Russia (YUVO), a Russian news agency reports.
Apart from the Crimean units, the formations deployed in Karachay-Cherkessia, Chechnya and Dagestan were alerted as well.
“The alerted military units are to march on specified sites and carry out exercise and military missions ... At the landfill military will perform tasks to simulate tactical actions and conduct target practice,” reads the statement of the press service of the occupiers’ Southern Military District."
Earlier, January 13, the units of anti-aircraft defense task group "South" of Ukraine jointly with combat support units conducted special tactical exercises in the Kherson region.
January 4, Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak said that if needed Ukraine would regularly carry out exercise at the site near the administrative border with the annexed Crimea.
